ASSOCIATION OF LITERARY CORRESPONDENTS FOR DAILY NEWSPAPERS - Lot 18
ASSOCIATION OF LITERARY CORRESPONDENTS FOR DAILY NEWSPAPERS L'Ami du Lettré for 1924. Paris, Les Éditions G. Crès & Cie, 1924. In-8, paperback, cover illustrated in red and blue by Louis Jou, 329 pp., numerous illustrations in and outside the text. An interesting edition of this literary almanac published by the Association of Literary Correspondents of Daily Newspapers. The publication appeared from 1923 to 1929. The volume brings together texts by numerous contemporary writers and features a remarkable illustration: an original color etching by George Barbier as the frontispiece, accompanied by 23 original woodcut compositions, notably by Mathurin Méheut, Gus Bofa, Pierre Falké, Carlègle, and others. It notably includes contributions by André Salmon, Alfred Jarry, and Pierre Mac Orlan. One of 200 copies on Rives vellum, this one being No. 3, belonging to the first edition: the colophon indicates 15 copies on China paper, 40 on Imperial Japan paper, 200 on Rives vellum, and 200 on alfa bouffant. A fine copy, preserved in its original, highly decorative paperback binding. The spine is slightly faded, with minor wear and rubbing on the head and foot and along the edges; the interior is fresh.
