WALLON (Henri) - Lot 293
WALLON (Henri) Paris, 1879 - 1962. French psychologist and politician, specialist in child psychology. Typed letter signed "H. Wallon", addressed to a friend. December 29, 1933. 1 page 1/4 in-8. Engraved letterhead with his name and address. Interesting letter of reading and criticism in which Henri Wallon thanks his correspondent for sending his work Le Physique au Théâtre. He immediately emphasizes its intellectual significance, going beyond the strict framework of the theater to constitute a veritable "experiment" in the human sciences, where, he notes, such successes are rare. Wallon dwells on the quality of the comparisons made between portraits and images, as well as on "the luminous commentary that accompanies them", which he deems to have great persuasive power. He emphasizes the personal contribution he draws from it, finding in it "precious indications" and "rich food for thought", and concludes by praising the author's remarkable balance between observation and intuition. This letter testifies to Wallon's attention to the interactions between art, perception and psychology, at the heart of his thinking on human phenomena.
