JACQUES SPACAGNA (1936-1990) "Woman", Description: Etching and drypoint Sheet size : 56.6 x 38 cm. Signature : Proof : justified "15/25" and signed in pencil by the artist. Technique : Etching and drypoint representing an abstract form. Condition : Good condition A painter and poet who joined the Lettrist movement from 1959 to 1972, Spacagna was one of its leading exponents, producing numerous sign paintings (known as hypergraphies) in a baroque, almost psychedelic style. In 1966, Spacagna began to paint hypergraphics with beautiful gold and silver lacquers and inks, with which his work is still associated today. In 1967, he had his first major solo exhibition at Galerie Stadler, introduced by Michel Tapié. Collaboration with Pierre Henry on the phonemes for the Liverpool Mass. He is also a prize-winner at the Fifth Paris Biennale. He establishes himself as a bookseller on the quays of Paris with Aude Jessemin.
