A polytechnic architect, Urbain Cassan took part in an impressive number of large-scale projects and constructions, including the Tour Montparnasse, the reconstruction of Le Havre (with Auguste Perret), numerous railway stations (from 1922), hospitals and hospital complexes (Lille 1937), university and administrative buildings.
