SAINT-OGAN (Alain). — Zig and Puce. Volume 3: 1931–1933. - Lot 301
SAINT-OGAN (Alain). — Zig and Puce. Volume 3: 1931–1933. Paris, Futuropolis, 1987. Large quarto, publisher’s color-illustrated hardcover. First edition of this third volume of the complete adventures of Zig and Puce, bringing together the stories *Zig and Puce in India* and *Zig, Puce, and Furette*, originally published between 1931 and 1933. Alain Saint-Ogan (1895–1974), a leading figure in French comics, was one of the pioneers of the systematic use of speech bubbles in French-language comics. His characters Zig and Puce, created in 1925, hold an important place in the history of the ninth art. The book features a color-illustrated cover and a lower cover panel illustrated in black and blue. Legal deposit November 1987. A fine copy, showing slight signs of handling and some scuffing on the board cover.
