MORRIS and GOSCINNY (René). — Lucky Luke. The Daltons Are St - Lot 140
MORRIS and GOSCINNY (René). — Lucky Luke. The Daltons Are Still on the Run. Marcinelle-Charleroi, Éditions Dupuis, 1967. Quarto, softcover with publisher’s illustrations, square spine, 46 color plates. Lucky Luke Collection, No. 23. First edition in album format of this Lucky Luke adventure, illustrated by Morris based on a story by René Goscinny. In this episode, the Dalton brothers are granted amnesty and regain their freedom. But their return to civilian life quickly turns into a disaster: unable to give up their criminal ways, Joe, William, Jack, and Averell resume their misdeeds, forcing Lucky Luke to intervene once again to restore order. Originally published in the magazine *Spirou*, *The Daltons Are Still on the Run* belongs to the particularly prolific period of the collaboration between Morris and Goscinny. The comic book features the four famous outlaws in a series of farcical situations, where their brotherly rivalry and clumsiness serve as the main sources of comedy. The cover, dominated by yellow, depicts the four Daltons stacked like a totem pole, while Lucky Luke, riding Jolly Jumper, watches them from a distance and Rantanplan occupies the foreground. Condition: A good copy showing some slight signs of wear and minor scuffing along the edges and corners. The interior is slightly yellowed, with a few discreet foxing spots. The cover retains particularly vivid colors.
