MORRIS and GOSCINNY. — Lucky Luke. Lucky Luke vs. Joss Jamon - Lot 128
MORRIS and GOSCINNY. — Lucky Luke. Lucky Luke vs. Joss Jamon. Marcinelle-Charleroi, Éditions Dupuis, 1966. In-4, publisher’s illustrated hardcover, square spine, 46 color plates. Lucky Luke Collection, No. 11. Reprint of the 1966 edition, bearing the copyright notice “© 1966 by World Press and Ed. J. Dupuis, Fils & Cie.” The back cover features a design of wooden planks, displaying eight titles from the collection, including *Billy the Kid*, *The Daltons in the Blizzard*, *The Daltons Are Still on the Run*, *The Caravan*, and *The 20th Cavalry*. Art by Morris and story by René Goscinny. Originally published as a graphic novel in 1958, *Lucky Luke vs. Joss Jamon* features a gang of six outlaws demobilized after the Civil War, led by the fearsome Joss Jamon. Lucky Luke must thwart their criminal schemes and restore order. This album is one of the first major collaborations between Morris and Goscinny, which helped establish Lucky Luke as one of the leading series in Franco-Belgian comics. The cover depicts Lucky Luke writing Joss Jamon’s name—wanted dead or alive—on a fence, while his accomplices look on with concern. Condition: Good copy. Front cover with fresh colors, showing a few slight signs of handling and minor scuffing along the edges. Corners slightly rounded. Back cover well-preserved, with subtle signs of wear. Pages slightly yellowed, with no major apparent flaws.
