DAVID (Félicien César) (1810–1876) - Lot 92
DAVID (Félicien César) (1810–1876) French composer, best known for his symphonic ode *Le Désert* (1844). Autograph note signed “Félicien David,” addressed to Mr. Densentry. Wednesday, June 5, 1861. 1/2 p. in-8, in brown ink. A short note in which the composer requests a seat at a performance on behalf of a third party: “Please be so kind as to give the bearer a good box seat for today, Wednesday. I would be most grateful.” Evidence of the relationships Félicien David maintained with the Parisian theater and music worlds during the Second Empire. Minor crease marks and a few pinholes.
