DANBÉ (Jules) (1840–1905) - Lot 90
DANBÉ (Jules) (1840–1905) French violinist, conductor, and composer. Autograph card signed “J. Danbé” to a doctor and friend. Paris, April 16, 1893. 2 pp., oblong in-12 format, on letterhead of the Théâtre National de l’Opéra-Comique. Violet ink. Interesting correspondence regarding the organization of concerts and the participation of musicians from the Opéra-Comique. Danbé notes that he has already approached several artists for various performances he is to conduct and wonders whether additional authorization is necessary: “Under these circumstances, I fear I would face an almost certain refusal. Besides, for a simple evening performance, is authorization absolutely necessary?” Some traces of old fastenings.
