BRETÉCHER (Claire). *Les Frustrés*. - Lot 27
BRETÉCHER (Claire). *Les Frustrés*. Paris: self-published, 1975. In-4, paperback, illustrated color cover with a purple border. The first collection by Les Frustrés, featuring black-and-white comic strips exploring the foibles of contemporary society. In it, Bretécher depicts the aspirations, anxieties, and contradictions of a generation: emancipation, relationships, psychoanalysis, education, and political activism. His expressive artwork and dialogue capture both the characters’ verbal tics and their dead ends. Printed in the fourth quarter of 1975, according to the legal deposit record; the first edition is listed as early as the beginning of that same year. Handwritten note indicating it was a gift, dated November 14, 1975, on the printed dedication page. Cover slightly rubbed, with small marks on the corners; yellowed paper, interior well-preserved.
