HADOL — “THAT’S MY DOGGY…” - Lot 119
HADOL — “THAT’S MY DOGGY…” HADOL (Paul). That’s my doggy; just a little more patience, and we’ll go find Augusta. Paris, on sale at Duclaux, 21 Place du Château-d’Eau; available at Madre, 20 rue du Croissant, [1870–1871]. A colored satirical lithograph depicting Bismarck as an authoritarian master, his hand resting on the head of an anthropomorphic dog bearing the likeness of William I. The caption refers to Augusta of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, wife of William I. Signed “Hadol” on the plate. A beautiful colored print. Paper is slightly browned, with a few creases and minor marks.
