ARCHDIOCESE OF PARIS — CERTIFICATE OF RELICS MORLOT (François-Nicolas-Madeleine, Cardinal, Archbishop of Paris). Certificate of relics. Paris, January 22, 1859. Large document, printed and handwritten on paper, in Latin, bearing a letterhead with the coat of arms of Cardinal François-Nicolas-Madeleine Morlot (1795–1862), Archbishop of Paris. An ecclesiastical document authenticating several relics, notably those of Saint Louis, King of France; Saint Anthony of Padua; Saint Joseph; and Saint Louis de Gonzaga, as well as those of the Virgin Mary. Dated in Paris and signed by the archiepiscopal authority. An interesting document concerning the authentication and circulation of relics in the 19th century. Condition: numerous old creases; slightly yellowed paper; a few small stains and minor wear along the margins.
