FIRST EDITION — PHOTOGRAPHS BY YLLA — ORIGINAL TEXT BY JACQUES PRÉVERT A beautiful photo album bringing together Ylla, one of the great wildlife photographers of the 20th century, and Jacques Prévert. The first edition was published by Gallimard in 1950 and features 100 photographs by Ylla. The layout is by Pierre Faucheux and the printing by Draeger frères. The photographs, often full-page, focus on portraits and poses: monkeys, big cats, birds, elephants, zebras, etc. The graphic design and the quality of the photogravure also make this an interesting photography book from the 1950s. Condition: A complete copy in good internal condition. The cloth binding shows significant wear, particularly at the corners, head and foot, and spines; there are scratches and signs of wear on the covers. A small, old pencil inscription is visible on the first page.
