The CNAM confirms this exact collation for the year 1905: 391 pages and 36 leaflets of plates, format 29 cm. Editorial Board: P. Bourgeois, M. Bucquet, Robert Demachy, E. Mathieu, Constant Puyo, and E. Wallon. This is a fine journal of early 20th-century French pictorialist photography, published by the Photo-Club de Paris. It contains both artistic and technical studies, reviews of exhibitions and salons, as well as numerous photographic reproductions. Notable among the year’s issues is Constant Puyo’s lengthy study, “L’Art de la composition,” published in several installments. The journal features photographers who are now highly sought after in the history of pictorialism; a complete collection from the years 1903–1905 is notably described, including works by Puyo, Demachy, de Meyer, Stieglitz, Steichen, Fréchon, and others.
