A curious collection devoted to the romantic and erotic imagery of the Belle Époque, bringing together 77 reproductions of vintage postcards from around 1900, selected from the collection of the German photographer and collector Robert Lebeck. The postcards, reproduced full-page in their original sepia tones, offer an interesting overview of erotic and glamour photography at the turn of the 20th century. Afterword by Manfred Sack dedicated to these “fairy-like figures of sensuality.” First German edition published in Dortmund in 1979 under the title *Playgirls von damals*; international edition by Mondadori, Milan, 1980; this French edition by Duculot, 1981. Condition: generally good; hardcover slightly scuffed and soiled, minor marks on the headbands and corners; a few foxing spots or small scattered stains inside.
