CINOTTI (Mya) — THE NAKED WOMAN IN SCULPTURE CINOTTI (Mya). The Naked Woman in Sculpture. Paris, Éditions de Varenne, [mid-20th century]. Quarto, publisher’s illustrated cardboard binding, with numerous black-and-white photographic reproductions. An iconographic study devoted to the representation of the female nude in sculpture, from antiquity to the modern era. Extensive photographic illustrations featuring, notably, the Capitoline Venus, the Venus de Milo, Leda and the Swan, Hermaphroditus, as well as numerous European sculptures. Photographs attributed, in particular, to Alinari and L. Vigneau. A work characteristic of postwar art history publications devoted to the nude, sought after more for its iconography than for its text. Condition: shows signs of use; cover is scuffed, corners and caps are worn, small marks and stains; interior is in fair condition with natural yellowing of the paper.
