Göttingen, Steidl / Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson, 2006. A substantial in-4 volume, bound in black in the style of an antique album, with embossed decoration and a gilt title label. Copy still in its original blister pack. French edition. ISBN 978-3-86521-353-2. A major publication reproducing Henri Cartier-Bresson’s famous Scrapbook, compiled by the photographer from more than 300 images selected for his exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, which opened in February 1947, shortly before the founding of Magnum. The book, designed as a true scrapbook of memories, brings together more than 200 photographs and documents. It accompanied the 2006 exhibition at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson and was awarded the 2006 Nadar Prize. The original Steidl edition is dated October 2006. Condition: mint in blister pack, a very fine copy. The blister pack shows only the slight creases inherent to its packaging.
