Oblong in-4, paperback, black-and-white illustrated cover, red banner reading “Swiss Special Feature.” Issue No. 7 of the journal *Artistes*, devoted in part to Swiss artistic creation and featuring several significant articles on contemporary art at the turn of the 1980s. The issue notably features a major special section on Richard Serra, lavishly illustrated with photographs of his monumental sculptures installed in urban spaces, particularly in New York: St. John’s Rotary Arc and TWU (1980). Also featured in this issue: Helmut Newton, Bram Van Velde, Luciano Bartolini, as well as texts by Martin Kunz (“A New Minority”) and Johannes Gachnang (“The Venues of Debate”). The cover features a nude photograph by Helmut Newton; the back cover reproduces a monumental work by Richard Serra. Numerous black-and-white photographic reproductions and documents. Interesting period advertisements for the Parisian galleries Daniel Templon, Catherine Issert, Samy Kinge, Beaubourg, Bama, and Zabriskie, notably announcing exhibitions by Louis Cane, Bill Beckley, Arman, Jasper Johns, Joel Meyerowitz, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Jean Tinguely. Fair condition. Cover is slightly yellowed, scuffed, and marked, with small creases and marginal wear; there is a red pencil mark on the front cover. The interior shows the usual yellowing of the paper.
