A beautiful photo album entirely devoted to the female nude, bringing together the works of Marcel Amson and Pierre Jahan. Pierre Jahan’s official bibliography lists the work in 1955 under the title *Selected Works: 50 Nudes by Amson and Jahan*. The photographs, reproduced full-page and, in some cases, across two pages, play with framing, shadows, and light, and reflect the aesthetic of French nude photography from the 1940s and 1950s. A detailed bibliographic description lists 49 photographs, including 25 by Marcel Amson and 24 by Pierre Jahan, reproduced in heliogravure. The book is of particular interest for Pierre Jahan (1909–2003), a photographer closely associated with postwar artistic and literary circles, best known for *La Mort et les statues*, created with Jean Cocteau in 1946. A good copy, with fresh pages; the dust jacket is intact but quite worn, with scuffs, peeling, and small tears along the edges, head and tail, and corners, as well as several creases and tears, particularly along the top edge. There is an old price notation in pencil on the title page. A good copy in its original dust jacket, which is worn.
