A substantial illustrated volume, presenting a saint’s life accompanied by an engraving for each day of the year. Publisher’s binding in beige percaline/chagrin with blind-stamped borders and a gilt title on the front cover; ribbed spine with title label. A decorative copy, but in a state of significant wear: the binding is heavily rubbed and stained; the spine is severely faded and worn; the fore-edges are worn; there is foxing and browning inside, with visible water damage, particularly in the upper part of the title page. The numerous engravings, however, remain a highlight.
