A beautiful edition illustrated by Daniel-Girard, published in Henri Cyral’s “Collection Française,” of which it is No. 12. The BnF confirms the 1927 Paris edition, the 264-page pagination, and the illustrations by Daniel-Girard. The book is richly illustrated with compositions by Daniel-Girard, several of which are stencil-colored, in the characteristic style of the beautifully illustrated books published by Cyral in the 1920s. Full-page illustrations, compositions within the text, and a color-illustrated cover. Limited edition of 1,021 numbered copies. This one, No. 108, is one of the copies printed on Rives vellum. Copies printed on Rives paper constitute the bulk of the print run; another bibliographic entry specifically lists copy no. 144 among the 973 printed on Rives vellum. A fine paperback copy, with full margins, in its attractive full-color illustrated cover. A few scattered foxing spots, mainly in the margins, and minor signs of wear on the cover and spine; nevertheless, the book is fresh and well-preserved overall.
