Quarto, loose-leaf format in a cardboard folder with black cloth corners and spine, covers bound in blue marbled paper, large illustrated label pasted onto the front cover. First edition of this collection of humorous drawings by Bernard Minne, published shortly after the end of World War II and printed in Cannes at the Imprimerie Robaudy on December 20, 1945. The volume brings together a series of full-page drawings, accompanied by captions, in which Bernard Minne casts a decidedly satirical eye on society and the foibles of his time. His style, extremely minimalist and expressive, is fully in the tradition of editorial cartooning and caricature. Preface by Jean Marsac. The book’s presentation is particularly original: the pages are loose inside a decorated cardboard folder, whose label features a typographic design reminiscent of ration coupons, with the title *Avec et sans* inscribed in large black letters. A few marks, foxing spots, and minor soiling on the pages; the folder is scuffed, with wear on the corners and spine, and minor damage along the edges. Nevertheless, the set remains quite complete and has a very distinctive presentation. A curious and unusual publication from the immediate postwar period, interesting both for its humorous drawings and for its remarkable graphic design.
