French edition of *Really the Blues*, the famous autobiography of jazz clarinetist Mezz Mezzrow, an important account of American jazz, Chicago, Harlem, and the culture of musicians from the 1920s to the 1940s. The book has long been well-received in France: *Le Monde* reviewed it as early as its French publication in 1950. This copy is particularly appealing to bibliophiles: a limited edition of 4,000 numbered copies printed on alfa paper from the Papeteries de la Madeleine, with printing completed on July 25, 1957. Copy No. 2082/4,000. Black cloth binding with yellow decoration and title lettering, endpapers illustrated with jazz record labels, and, most notably, the original illustrated dust jacket preserved. The cloth binding and interior are in very good overall condition; the dust jacket shows some scuffing and signs of wear but is complete.
