A large square in-8 volume, paperback bound in the publisher’s white embossed cover, spine titled in gold lettering, front cover adorned with a remarkable portrait of Clément Marot (1496–1544) stamped in deep relief. In its original decorated slipcase. First volume of this elegant bibliophile edition of Clément Marot’s Poésies, illustrated with original etchings by Paulette Humbert, with an introduction by Pierre d’Espezel. The complete edition comprises two volumes, 14 plates, and 18 engraved vignettes. This is a copy of the first volume alone, well preserved in its original slipcase. A very attractive presentation by the publisher, characterized by the heavily grained white cover and the spectacular relief portrait of Marot. Some slight signs of wear on the slipcase; the volume is in fine overall condition, as shown in the photographs. The second volume is missing to complete the set.
