LORRAIN (Jean). — *La Nostalgie de la Beauté*. Selected thoughts, with an introduction by Jean Bouscatel. Paris, E. Sansot & Cie, *Collection des Glanes françaises*, n.d. [1912]. Small 12mo. First edition of this posthumous collection of thoughts by Jean Lorrain, selected and introduced by Jean Bouscatel. A copy from the regular print run, following 12 copies printed on Imperial Japan paper and 20 copies printed on Holland Van Gelder Zonen paper. Original color-illustrated cover preserved. Bradel binding in full yellow cloth, smooth spine adorned with a green morocco title label, with the author’s name, title, and the word “Glanes” gilded. Title label rubbed; cloth slightly soiled. Inner hinge of the front cover widely split, with weak stitching and a noticeable gap between the first few pages; interior, however, complete and in satisfactory condition. A posthumous collection bringing together, under the evocative title *La Nostalgie de la Beauté*, a selection of reflections by Jean Lorrain (1855–1906), a singular figure in fin-de-siècle literature. The work belongs to the “Glanes françaises” collection published by Sansot, which aimed to bring together selected pieces by French writers in small volumes intended for bibliophiles.
