Large quarto (approx. 31 × 22 cm), 48 pages, softcover with the publisher’s illustration, lavishly illustrated with black-and-white photographs taken during the filming of the movie. The text was written by Albert Lamorisse and Denys Colomb de Daunant. The photo album was first published by Hachette in 1953, alongside Lamorisse’s famous film; contemporary bibliographies describe this first edition as a 48-page volume in the same large format. This is a copy of the 1965 Hachette edition, as identified by the “printed by” notice: Draeger Frères, Montrouge, July 26, 1965, legal deposit no. 3578, 3rd quarter of 1965; the volume also references the first legal deposit in the 4th quarter of 1953. The book reproduces an extensive series of photographs from the film shoot—43 images listed at the end of the volume, taken notably by Albert Lamorisse, Denys Colomb de Daunant, Perverchon, and Moureaux-Néry—depicting the wild horses of the Camargue, Folco, the gardians, and key scenes from the film. The film *Crin-Blanc*, directed by Albert Lamorisse in 1953, is one of the iconic works of French cinema for young audiences. It received, among other honors, the Jean Vigo Prize and the International Grand Prize for Short Films at the 1953 Cannes Film Festival. An interesting feature of this copy: it retains the original red promotional banner, which is removable, bearing the inscription: “Jean Vigo Prize - Grand Prix at the Cannes International Film Festival - Prize from the International Children’s Center.” This banner, which is often missing, significantly enhances the copy’s appeal. A handwritten note reading “Romain Cécile” in blue ink at the top of the title page. A fine copy. The cardboard cover is slightly rubbed, with a few scratches and superficial marks, mainly visible under certain lighting conditions; minor wear on the corners and headbands. The original banner is preserved, with slight creases from handling. The interior is clean and well-preserved, with crisp photographs.
