Copy numbered 3197, part of a print run reserved for subscribers to the “Bibliothèque Privée” collection. Printed on January 31, 1969, by Imprimerie La Galiote in Villejuif. This edition includes, as an appendix, “Histoire d’un livre traqué, le Portier des Chartreux” by Pascal Pia, with documents drawn from the Bastille archives. The BnF describes the edition as a volume of II-338-LXV pages and attributes the text to Jean-Charles Gervaise de Latouche. A famous libertine and anticlerical text from the 18th century, originally published clandestinely and long sought after as a curiosity. Condition: a very fine copy based on the photographs; fresh binding, well-preserved gilding, clean interior.
