DORGELÈS (Roland). — *Le Réveil des morts*. Lithographs by Paulette Humbert. Paris, Librairie de la Revue Française, published by Alexis Redier, “Le Paon Blanc” series, n.d. [circa 1930]. In-8, paperback, embossed cover printed in red and black. An illustrated edition of Roland Dorgelès’s novel, featuring 8 lithographs by Paulette Humbert, including a frontispiece and separate plates. The BnF accurately describes this edition under the title *Le Réveil des morts*, with 335 pages, 8 illustrations, and its inclusion in the third series of the “Le Paon Blanc” collection, of which it is the eighth volume. Copy No. 346, one of 910 copies printed on Arches vellum, numbered from 191 to 1,100. The print run is limited to 1,100 numbered copies: 10 on Imperial Japon paper, 30 on Holland Van Gelder, 150 on Vidalon Royal Vellum, and 910 on Arches Vellum. In addition, 25 non-commercial copies were printed for collaborators, and 100 copies on Vidalon Royal Vellum, numbered I through C. An important novel in Dorgelès’s body of work, *Le Réveil des morts* (originally published in 1923), depicts the return to life and the difficult reconstruction of regions devastated by World War I. This “Paon Blanc” edition differs from the edition illustrated by Pierre Falké and published by Mornay in 1924. A beautiful paperback copy with wide margins, in its well-preserved original cover. Very slight signs of wear on the cover, particularly on the headbands and corners; minor marks and stains that are not significant. The interior appears fresh in the photographs.
