DIRAND (Robert) Poèmes en friche. Paris, 1957. 8vo, paperback, cream-colored cover printed in black, with wide margins. First edition, printing completed on November 8, 1957, at the Imprimerie Robert Brindel in Paris. Limited edition of 1,000 copies, including 100 copies printed on Lafuma pure-fiber vellum, numbered 1 through 100. A collection of poems by Robert Dirand (1917–2020), a general practitioner, medical unionist, writer, painter, and poet, who notably participated in the Salon des Écrivains Médecins. A precious copy enhanced by a signed autograph dedication from the author, dated November 23, 1980: “To my Mentor and friend, Dr. Barbizet, with the author’s deepest respect and affection” This dedication is particularly interesting due to its recipient, Dr. Jacques Barbizet, a leading figure in French neurology and a student of Jean Delay. The copy thus connects two physicians in a context that is both literary and collegial. A few slight marks and creases on the cover, a small dent at the top; interior well-preserved.
