The text opens with the decree of September 3, 1807, issued by Napoleon, “Emperor of the French, King of Italy, and Protector of the Confederation of the Rhine.” The volume notably includes provisions relating to inheritance, division of estates, mortgages, expropriations, and statutes of limitations, and concludes with a table of contents bearing the notation “In Paris, from the Imperial Printing Office.” Copy in used condition: binding heavily rubbed, caps and corners damaged, spine worn, paper browned and stained, water stains, and some marginal defects.
