Quarto, paperback, cover lined with coarse-grained cream paper, title printed in black on the front cover and spine. First edition of this study by Jean Cocteau devoted to El Greco. A beautiful publication, richly illustrated with black-and-white reproductions—including many full-page ones—dedicated to the painter’s work. Cover is browned with signs of wear; there is a significant tear along the outer edge of the front cover, as well as small snags and wear at the corners. Interior is in good condition, except for a noted handwritten inscription. First edition of this richly illustrated study by Cocteau on El Greco.
