FRANCE — Iris 1 F + Peace 2 F — Mixed Postage Third Republic. Envelope fragment bearing two red stamps: a 1-franc Iris stamp, featuring the effigy of the Republic holding a scepter, and a 2-franc Peace stamp. Both stamps are jointly canceled by a mechanical cancellation with wavy lines. The Iris stamp is positioned upside down relative to the 2 F stamp, a peculiarity of the affixation that has no philatelic significance but gives the fragment an interesting appearance.
