BELGIUM — King Leopold III / 1937 Brussels International Exposition BELGIUM, 1937. Blue stamp depicting Leopold III, on a fragment bearing a large machine-applied/advertising postmark: “BEZOEK DE INTERNATIONALE JAARBEURSSEL VAN BRUSSEL 1937,” an advertisement inviting visitors to attend the 1937 Brussels International Exposition. Unfortunately, the stamp is heavily damaged in its lower left corner; a portion has clearly been torn off along with the paper. Condition: poor for the stamp itself, but interesting for the promotional postmark preserved on its backing.
