SCHULZ (Valerie-Vera) - Lot 276
SCHULZ (Valerie-Vera) Haida. Bella Coola. Native American Totem Poles in the Pacific Northwest. Kassel, Friedrich Lometsch Verlag, 1962. In-8, publisher’s illustrated cardboard binding with an illustrated photographic dust jacket, [12] pp. and 25 plates, several of which are in color. “Druck der Arche” series, no. 39. A monograph devoted to totem poles and monumental sculpture of the peoples of the Pacific Northwest, particularly the Haida and Bella Coola. The book features large photographic reproductions of totem poles, animal figures, and carved emblems: eagle, wolf, grizzly bear, thunderbird, etc. First edition from 1962, sought after primarily for its illustrations and highly graphic design. A complete copy with its illustrated dust jacket, a notable feature since copies available on the market do not always retain it. A few small marks and signs of wear on the dust jacket, particularly at the corners and edges; interior is clean. A good copy.
