FAGG (William). Africa: 100 Tribes—100 Masterpieces. Paris, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Louvre Palace, Pavillon de Marsan, 1964. In-8, paperback, original illustrated cover, 65 pp., followed by 101 pages of photographic plates, some of which are fold-outs; fold-out map. Catalog of the major exhibition held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs from October 28 to November 30, 1964, curated by William Fagg. One hundred works were selected to represent one hundred African artistic traditions, notably Ifé, Benin, Yoruba, Baoulé, Senoufo, Bambara, Lobi, Bobo, Ijo, and Ekoi. An important reference catalog on African arts, richly illustrated and featuring works from major museums and historic collections. Cover is slightly rubbed and worn at the edges, with small tears; interior is in good condition.
