AUDOUIN (Philippe) — Art of the North American Indians - Lot 44
AUDOUIN (Philippe) — Art of the North American Indians Paris, L'OEil, Art Gallery, in collaboration with Henri Kamer New York Ltd, 1973. Quarto, paperback, cover illustrated with a large black-and-white photograph, unmarked spine, approximately 32 unnumbered pages. Catalog of the exhibition held at Galerie L'OEil in Paris from March 14 to April 10, 1973, featuring 44 Native American art objects: Plains and Pueblo cultures, ceremonial objects, headdresses and helmet masks, Kachinas, and depictions of the Zuni gods of war. A beautiful, richly illustrated publication, featuring black-and-white reproductions and two large color plates. This catalog is of particular interest due to its association with Henri Kamer and the quality of the objects featured, set against the backdrop of the development of the Parisian market for primitive art in the early 1970s. A good copy. Some scuffing and minor signs of wear on the cover, particularly on the spine; the interior is fresh.
