SPIROU - Journal Album, No. 65 Dupuis, 1958. Large quarto hardcover, red cloth spine, front cover illustrated in color. A very fine vintage collection of *Le Journal Spirou*, corresponding to issue No. 65 of the famous series of bound albums published by Dupuis. This volume brings together issues No. 1029 through 1039, published in 1958, during the heyday of the Marcinelle School. It features the great artists of the Dupuis publishing house: Franquin, Morris, Peyo, Roba, and Will, from a period particularly sought after by collectors of early collections. The highly decorative cover depicts Spirou and Fantasio in their red car in the midst of a bustling urban scene, under the watchful eye of a traffic light whose famous “clac clic” sound lends the image its dynamic energy. This composition is one of the most iconic covers from the collection series of the late 1950s.
