SPIROU - Journal Album, No. 63 - Lot 193
SPIROU - Journal Album, No. 63
Dupuis, 1957. Large quarto hardcover, red cloth spine, front cover illustrated in color.
A very fine vintage collection of *Le Journal Spirou*, corresponding to issue No. 63 in the historical series of Dupuis hardcover albums.
This volume brings together issues No. 1009 through 1018, published in 1957, at the height of the magazine’s most sought-after period—the golden age of the Marcinelle School.
It features the legendary artists whose work gives these collections their value today: Franquin, Morris, Peyo, Will, Roba, and Paape, during a period when the Marsupilami and Dupuis’s flagship series were at their peak.
The particularly decorative cover features a giant paw of the Marsupilami, with the little creature clutching its own tail, in a spectacular composition that is instantly recognizable to Franquin fans.
