RODOCANACHI (Emmanuel). (1859–1934) Historian, member of the Institut. Signed autograph letter to a colleague. Paris, March 17, 1926. 1 p. in-8 (2/3 of a page). Mourning paper, with printed letterhead reading “54, rue de Lisbonne, VIIIe.” A thank-you letter addressed to a colleague for sending a book. Rodocanachi expresses his pleasure in reading it and emphasizes how interesting it was to learn more about the life of the poet in question: “…the pleasure I took in learning more about so many aspects of this poet’s life that I was previously unaware of—a poet who enchanted my early years…” He notes that he took the book with him to Italy, where he was able to continue reading it at his leisure.
