Diplomat, minister plenipotentiary, French ambassador, general councilor for the Eure department.
Autograph letter signed “Cte de Reiset” to Monsieur,
Château de Breuil (Eure), December 8, 1872, 1 page, in-8.
A short and elegant autograph letter from the Count de Reiset, written from the Château de Breuil, concerning a matter of tax regulations and assessments.
The Count asks his correspondent to kindly inform him of the amount still owed:
“Please be so kind as to tell me what I still owe you for my taxes”
so that he may send the funds:
“so that I may send you my money by mail”
He concludes this request by expressing his best regards and warmest regards, in a style very characteristic of 19th-century aristocratic correspondence.
In a postscript, he adds: “Madame du Bois writes to me that she has paid part of my taxes”
An interesting document of both administrative and personal nature, clearly dated and signed.
Very good overall condition.
Minor wear along the lower corner, nothing serious.
