NISARD (Charles). (1808–1889) Philologist, literary historian, member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres. Autograph letter signed “Ch. Nisard.” Paris, September 22, 1853. 1 p. in-8, printed letterhead of the Ministry of the Interior. Letter addressed to a correspondent regarding the mailing of a printed volume and its receipt. Nisard acknowledges receipt of a package and requests confirmation regarding a volume delivered to a third party (Delpierre / Delpériard?—reading to be clarified). He also mentions a note to be passed on and specifies the procedures for returning and verifying the volumes. The letter concludes with a polite closing and a neatly written signature.
