MILITARY MEDAL - FIRST EMPIRE / RESTORATION Certificate in the name of the Emperor Large certificate on vellum, printed and handwritten, with an ornate engraved allegorical border (arms, military trophies, fasces, laurel wreaths), bearing the inscription: “Military Medal—In the Name of the Emperor.” Personalized document awarded to a Grand Constable of the Imperial Order of the Legion of Honor, signed and countersigned. A grand decorative composition typical of official honorary documents from the 19th century. A very beautiful engraved border featuring military and symbolic motifs, adorned with trophies of arms and imperial emblems, executed with great skill. The text confers upon its recipient the Military Medal, a major distinction recognizing services rendered to the Nation, in the tradition of the imperial orders. The document is folded (showing traces of old creases), with marginal wear, soiling, and foxing, but with no major damage to the decoration, which remains highly legible and spectacular.
