MASSON (Frédéric). - Lot 202
MASSON (Frédéric). (1847–1923) French historian, specialist in the First Empire. Member of the Académie française (1903), permanent secretary (1919). Autograph letter-card signed “Frédéric Masson” addressed to Lefèvre-Pontalis. Paris, March 20, 1915. 1/2 p. in-8. Postcard with handwritten address, postage stamp, and postmarks. An administrative and personal note in which Masson informs his correspondent of Henri Cochin’s change of address and specifies the details of a meeting: “…call the members only for 6:00 p.m., as he will be at the Academy that day and fears he may not arrive by 5:30 p.m.” A document characteristic of the correspondence between academicians and scholars in the early 20th century.
