LAROQUETTE (Jean-Bernard-Alexis Dezos de). (1784–1868) French military officer and geographer, French consul, active member of the Geographical Society. Knight of the Legion of Honor. Autograph letter signed “de Laroquette” Paris, January 22, 1840. 1 page, in-4. Letter concerning a scientific publication matter An interesting letter addressed to an unidentified correspondent, concerning the shipment and proofreading of copies of a report by the Société des Antiquaires du Nord. Laroquette points out an error in the shipment: “Instead, the package […] contains 100 similar copies. I think there is a mistake… ” He distinguishes between: - defective copies - corrected and bound copies and specifies that the former are of no use to him. He concludes: “I will write to Mr. Rafin (?) tomorrow or the day after and carry out your request.”
