A charming note of congratulations following the premiere of Mazères and Picard’s play, *Les Trois Quartiers*, which was a major event in Paris. Grimod wished to see Mr. Mazères in order to...thank him for the indescribable pleasure he had been kind enough (...) to give him on the 8th of this month by enabling him to hear and applaud one of the best and most witty comedies of manners of which the present age can be proud. Deprived of the pleasure of meeting the amiable (...) author of so many works that are at once comic, sensitive, and moral, he asks him to accept, along with the expression of his gratitude, that of his highest regard...*Les trois quartiers*, a three-act comedy in prose by Louis-Benoît Picard and Edouard Mazères, was first performed at the Théâtre Français on May 31, 1827.
