Important autograph dossier consisting of 4 handwritten pages with a table summarizing his service record, addressed to the Duke of Feltre, Minister of War, Paris, March 17, 1814. 5 ff. large folio (4 autograph pages + 1 handwritten summary table). A very important collection relating to a request for the Legion of Honor submitted at the end of the Empire. In a lengthy autograph letter, Officer Cloutier details his service record and outlines the grounds for his request, specifically mentioning: twenty-two years of service, fifteen campaigns, and seven wounds The file is supplemented by a detailed table of service, campaigns, acts of valor, and wounds—a document of particular value for Napoleonic military history. The collection covers the campaigns from 1793 to 1814, with a detailed account of engagements, promotions, and wounds sustained. The document is dated March 1814, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Empire’s final weeks, shortly before Napoleon’s first abdication. Beautiful calligraphy and remarkable historical significance. In good overall condition, with normal age-related creases.
