French lawyer and statesman. Minister of Justice, Minister of the Navy, member of the National Assembly representing Corsica.
Autograph letter signed “C. Campichi,” addressed to “My dear prosecutor and friend.”
No place or date [a Saturday]. Half a page, quarto size, on letter paper.
A letter of congratulations addressed to a magistrate on the occasion of an appointment.
In it, César Campichi expresses “his sincere joy” at the news of this promotion, adding that “the entire Palace applauds this well-deserved promotion and congratulates the head of its Public Prosecutor’s Office .” An example of the courtesies and professional solidarity within the judicial and political spheres during the Third Republic.
