Lawyer and politician. One of the leading figures of the bar in the 19th century, famous for his courtroom arguments and his role during the July Monarchy and the Second Empire. Autograph letter signed “Berryer” to Colonel de Lespinasse.

Short letter of apology.
Berryer expresses his regret at being unable to attend an evening event organized by his correspondent:
“…I cannot arrange matters as I had hoped…,” explaining that he will not be in Paris at the scheduled time.
A simple but representative piece of private correspondence from one of the greatest lawyers of the 19th century.
