ARAGO (Etienne). Born in Perpignan. 1802–1892. French playwright and politician. Director of the Théâtre du Vaudeville in 1829. Mayor of Paris in 1870. Autograph letter signed “Etienne Arago” to “My dear Daviot.” No place, no date. 1 page, in-8. Arago informs the recipient... “I have come to see you four times in the past eight days. It concerns a matter you are already familiar with: the search for money orders filed in the Assembly’s archives, which Messrs. Longepied and Laugier are requesting again in order to collect the money at the Post Office. The amounts of these money orders are those I am enclosing with this letter.
