In-4, paperback, illustrated cover. A rare publication produced for the 3rd Grand Prix for Film Photography, held as part of the 41st Cannes Film Festival. This volume pays tribute to set photographer Raymond Voinquel (1912–1994), a leading figure in French film photography, whose photographs documented nearly half a century of film production. Illustrated with numerous black-and-white reproductions, the book traces Voinquel’s career through his portraits of actors, his on-set photographs, and his collaborations with the greatest French directors. It is supplemented by articles dedicated to the Grands Prix de la Photographie de Cinéma, an initiative supported by Kodak, Leica, and Studio Magazine, aimed at promoting on-set photography and young photographers. A non-commercial publication distributed primarily during the Cannes Film Festival, it is now rarely found on the market. Condition: very good copy.
